WELCOME

You are cordially invited to participate in the meeting of the 12th International Cereal Rusts and Powdery Mildews Conference which will be held in Antalya, Turkey, five years after the last meeting held in Norwich, UK in 2004 (11th ICRPMC) which is organized on behalf of the European and Mediterranean Cereal Rust Foundation (http://www.crpmb.org). The meeting will begin on Tuesday, October 13th, 2009 and will conclude with the Gala Dinner on Friday, 16th of October.

The meeting will be held at the cross-roads between the old and the new worlds. Therefore, we are eager to have participants from all continents and countries where rusts and mildews are issues for cereal agriculture; especially now, in the brink of cloned durable resistance genes.

All topic areas relating to the biology and genetics of cereal interactions with rust and powdery mildew pathogens and pathogen epidemiology are warmly invited. Both oral and poster presentations are invited and as at the 11 th ICRPMC we would like to encourage participation of interested parties working on questions both fundamental and applied in nature. Therefore we encourage both researchers and cereal breeders to attend this meeting.

The format of the meeting will include morning and evening sessions consisting of 30 minute invited presentations and a number of short offered talks under each topic area. Session topic areas will be selected from the submitted abstracts and participants are encouraged to present. Poster sessions will also be held. Participants are encouraged to offer abstracts as oral or poster presentations, although the final decision will lie with the organizing and scientific committee.

We would encourage participation by students and younger post-doctoral researchers.

Details and procedures for the submission of abstracts and registration are already posted on our web site 12th ICRPMC-2009, Antalya (http://www.icrpmc2009.org). Please bring this notice to the attention of any of your colleagues who may be interested. We hope to see you in Antalya in October 13-16, 2009.
